mexico

I know, I'm a little behind, but better late than never right?

About two weeks ago we drove a LONG at least 20 hours one way for all this:
(it was worth it!)

Jason's family has been going to Mexico to do eyeglass trips for a while, and this year was especially awesome because Jason was able to help with exams. His education is paying off! YAY!
Jason doing an exam on a minninite lady
This is what makes it worth it :)
Every time we find the goofiest glasses....these were the winning pair!

(John & Rachel....precious)

This is what I did most the time....adjustments (as you can tell from the picture most of the time I was clueless!)

We did some sight seeing...and one day I want one of these so I can decorate with bright colors. I don't think I could paint my house this color in the U.S.!
Hacienda-translation-huge house!
All of the wood work and tiling was incredible.
This is just one picture of the inside. This house was HUGE...for the sake of
time I'm only posting this one.

Church History Lesson:
The place we stayed in was called Colonial Juarez...which is where a lot of the members fled when they were being persecuted by the U.S. government, and there are still a lot of members there today. This was the first mini-temple built and President Gordon B. Hinkley recieved the revelation to build mini-temples while he was visiting Colonial Juarez!

The trip was so much fun and we are so appreciative of what we have every time we come back! Thanks to Jason's parents and the Whetten's who let us stay at their house again. Oh, and thanks John, Rachel, and Jason for driving while I slept in the back seat! :)

You're welcome you lazy bum, or actually I'm just jealous that you could sleep in the car. This weekend we were almost home when I fell asleep I swear in the middle of a conversation and slept for like a half hour. I was amazed. Poor John. Why couldn't that have happened then?
